CONTEXT

IECD was created in 1988 and is driven by the desire to show solidarity with people in need. IECD has progressively established itself in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam since 2010.  Education and vocational training are at the core of IECD teams’ actions, convinced that these are the keys to human development. Indeed, their mission is to promote development by strengthening peoples’ abilities and those of local partners.

La Boulangerie Française HCMC (aka The French Bakery), a social enterprise by IECD, aims to train vulnerable young people to become highly skilled bakers and responsible adults, socially well integrated and independent. The high-quality bakery products made during their intensive training are sold to customers and the revenue generated contribute directly to financing the school’s operations, with the objective to become self-sustainable.  

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project coordinator supports the Project Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the French Bakery School’s training center. This role ensures smooth coordination among teaching staff, students, and operational partners, while upholding high standards in pedagogy, student support, and curriculum implementation. She/He is also responsible for supervising life skills training and helping maintain a structured learning environment aligned with IECD’s mission.

 

1. PROJECT COORDINATION

  • Ensure smooth communication within the training Team and between internal and external stakeholders (TDC, trainers, partners…)
  • Organize and supervise training schedules, students evaluations, and attendance monitoring
  • Coordinate the implementation of all modules: English, Technical (bakery), life skills, – Proactive participation in transversal activities with  

 

2. LOCAL  PARTNERSHIPS

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local operational partners such as vocational schools, local NGOs, training centers, and authorities
  • Ensure coordination, alignment, and collaboration with these partners for the smooth implementation of training activities
  • Represent the project in local coordination platforms

 

3. REPORTING

  • Publish a report on P.C. activities (life skill, recruitment, students) periodically. – Working with communication staff when organize the activities for students

 

4. DORMITORY MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure close relationships with TDC Dormitory Manager to get a perfect overview of students’ life outside the school (Health, Food, Cleaning, Security, Activity)

 

5. LIFE SKILLS TRAINING

  • Identify and contract external life skills trainers or organizations
  • Supervise the design, delivery, and evaluation of life skills sessions
  • Ensure coherence between life skills and professional training content through regular coordination with technical staff

 

6. STUDENTS LIFE  

  • Coordinate holistic support for students: scholar fees follow-up, personal development, leisure activities
  • Organize monthly individual check-ins and group meetings with students                                                                                                  
  • Conduct class councils with teachers for continuous feedback and adjustment
  • Manage student recruitment, selection, onboarding, and orientation
  • Oversee internship planning and follow-up
  • Organize exposure visits to bakeries, pastries, or hospitality businesses
  • Maintain follow-up with alumni and animate the alumni community 

 

WE WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOU ARE

  • a people person and a team player
  • a bachelor degree holder in Education, Social Work or Psychology
  • an experienced pedagogical leader with 2 years’ experience in education or social work
  • organised and able to develop a curriculum
  • computer literate and able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint…
  • familiar with multi-cultural working environment
  • proficient in spoken and written English and Vietnamese
  • willing to learn, dynamic, reliable and capable to adapt and react quickly
  • a foodie and a French Gastronomy enthusiast

 

Working time: 5 days per week (flexible)

Place: TDC, occasional out of office work

Compensation: Salary range between 20 – 23 M VND per month, 13th month bonus,

Package: health insurance and annual medical check, 18 days annual leave (excluding public holidays)

Contract duration: 1 year

Starting date: As soon as possible
